KHETRA MOHAN was born in Meher family, at village Barpali, district Bargarh which is famous for poet Gangadhar Meher and Tussar sarees .He never went to school after 2nd standard. He listened carefully to his father’s advice and worked hard to succeed in life. Soon he started developing new designs in Tussar sarees and gradually his products were exported to other countries. Khetra Mohan has instituted handloom training centre in the name of Santoshini Handloom where 20 trainers per batch undergo training on handloom weaving regularly and they are getting stipend also. Kehtra Mohan says that this centre is his pride as the weavers are taught this traditional art of weaving. Kehtra Mohan’s dream project is to set up a big handloom industry where more than 100 weavers family will set regular employment and become self reliant.
